DOJ Admonishes Foreign Judge in Free Speech Rumble

Department Of Justice Defends Rumble Against Brazilian court’s Free Speech Overreach

The department Of Justice (DOJ) has issued a letter too a Brazilian Supreme Court justice, Justice Alexandre De Moraes, regarding orders to the video platform rumble. The DOJ is concerned about the judge ordering Rumble to restrict the free speech of a user on U.S. Soil.

Rumble, a U.S.-based video-sharing platform, has become a focal point in an international battle over freedom of expression. Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski told Fox News that the DOJ’s letter validates Rumble’s mission.

Justice Moraes had ordered Rumble to suspend a user accused of spreading false details and considered a fugitive in Brazil. Rumble refused to comply and faced potential financial penalties.

The DOJ letter, dated May 7, argues that Moraes’ orders are not enforceable in the U.S. The letter asserts that foreign officials cannot issue censorship orders that violate the First Amendment or bypass U.S. law.
