Dollar exchange rate rises for passport renewal

The Consular section from Embassy of the United States in the Dominican Republic reported that it updated the exchange rate of the dollar for passport renewal through Domex.

As of January 26, the rate of $130 dollars will correspond to RD $7,800 in Dominican pesos.

The US dollar exchange rate applies to cashier’s checks payable to “EE.UU. Embassy Santo Domingo” for US passport renewal services through Domex.

“This does not affect payments made for immigrant or non-immigrant visa services,” indicates the statement that was shared on the embassy’s social networks.

Note that if the passport is sent for renewal following January 26, they must ensure that the check is for the exact amount.
