During the Developer Day: The Game Awards Edition showcase, developer Cobysoft Co. and publisher Hyper Real just showed off a new glimpse at what may be the strangest game many people have ever seen. Called Dome-King Cabbage, it’s a monster-collecting visual novel in which players explore a fantasy 3D world inspired by the clay dioramas of 90s game boxes. Yes, that’s a lot of fancy words crammed together, and frankly, the trailer doesn’t quite do it justice to piece together what this unusual game is trying to offer. What we do know is that the object of the game is to successfully complete a job interview to earn the rare King of the Vault title. As for how it all happened, we’re told that protagonist Mush is able to perceive the world through the lens of a monster-collecting role-playing game. To help deal with the nerves during a routine job interview, Mush took himself to Breadcrumb Island to find The title of King of the Dome. If none of this information really gives you a good idea of what Dome-King Cabbage will have to offer, you can check out the game’s latest trailer below. It will eventually launch on PC and Nintendo Switch, although there’s no release date set yet.
