Students at Don Bosco Tech in Rosemead, California, recently delivered over 2,100 essential and comfort items to the American Red Cross, addressing needs among veterans in the region. The donation, spearheaded by the school’s Red Cross Club, included a range of supplies collected from students, parents, and staff.

Following the completion of their school examinations, student volunteers from the Red Cross Club personally transported the collected items to Red Cross headquarters in Arcadia, California. The delivery represents an ongoing annual contribution from Don Bosco Tech, recognized for its consistent support of veteran services.

Victoria Phung, head of youth programs at the Red Cross, expressed gratitude for the school’s continued partnership. “We are fortunate to have Don Bosco Tech to count on,” Phung stated, adding that the students are “among our best allies in helping our veterans.”

Don Bosco Tech, a Catholic institution, integrates a college preparatory curriculum with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The school’s program is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to meet and exceed university admission requirements, while also providing specialized training in applied science and engineering fields.

The donation is part of a broader tradition of community service fostered by Don Bosco students globally. Salesian missionaries, operating in over 130 countries, prioritize education and workforce development, aiming to provide disadvantaged youth with opportunities for livable wage employment. The organization’s network includes a variety of educational institutions, from primary schools to vocational and technical training centers.
