Without German international Maximilian Kleber, the Dallas Mavericks suffered a setback when NBA superstars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant met again. The Texans lost 126:130 to the Phoenix Suns after a gripping final phase in their own hall.
It came to a head in the last quarter and remained exciting until the last few seconds. With Dallas two points down, the ball naturally went into the hands of Luka Doncic. In the end, the Slovenian got exactly the shot he wanted, but left this supposedly easy finish. Usually not a problem for the 77 Mavs, who subsequently had to foul Durant. So the game was decided.
The stars scored the points in this game, with Doncic scoring 34 points and Irving 30. The top scorer of the match was Durant with 37 points, just ahead of teammate Devin Booker (36).
Irving and Durant faced each other for the first time this season at the American Airlines Center, having both played together for the Brooklyn Nets until just before the transfer window closed. However, this chapter was not crowned with success.
Davis leads the Lakers to victory
Every game counts for the Lakers to get into the playoffs. Without injured star LeBron James, Los Angeles celebrated an important 113-105 home win over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. Anthony Davis was the outstanding man and led his team with 39 points, Dennis Schröder added eleven points. Stephen Curry came back for the Dubs with 27 points.
