The reason Dorce prayed at Al-Hayyu was as a form of respect. According to the administrator of the mosque concerned, namely Ustaz Anna Muhajir, the late Dorce was very instrumental for the residents around the mosque during his lifetime.
“This is his legacy, it’s very useful for the residents here. In the past, there was no mosque, the road was still small,” he said, quoted from detik.com on Wednesday (16/2/2022).
“When he was here, it was paved, the car could enter. Thank God, I will never forget his services,” he continued.
Not only that, the plan is for the deceased to be buried in the same burrow with his cousin at the Bantar Jati TPU, Cipayung, East Jakarta.
“We plan to pile up the funeral in Bantar Jati. He already has his cousin. He and his cousin are very close, so later after being handed over from the hospital, we will pay our respects to be brought to the mosque, we will pray at the Al-Hayyu Mosque,” said Anna.
Regarding funerals, later the deceased will also be buried as a man. Although, previously he had a will to be buried as a woman.
However, according to Ustaz Anna Muhajir, the will is only a request of the deceased, it does not have to be obeyed. So far, Ustaz Anna Muhajir has also confirmed that Dorce Gamalama will be buried as a man.
“(His desire to) be buried as a woman we leave everything to God. That’s just his desire, which take care of all of us.”
“We all know what he was born like, so we’ll return him to where he came from. What’s important is that we see his faith in Allah, I didn’t see the others first,” he said.
