On December 15, 2022, the “repair bonus” came into force, a reduction directly applicable by repairers on the price of their services. There is still a very long way to go since only 10% of breakdowns are currently treated.
What to choosewhich already announced this doubling of the bonus for last July, indicated in April that in 4 months, only €500,000 in bonuses had been paid while the envelope planned to finance this operation in 2023 is 62 million euros. ..
€60 for a television, €50 for a computer, €25 for a smartphone screen
Concretely, the devices affected by this doubling of the bonus are the following: washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners and televisions. The bonus of €25 for the first three therefore increases to €50. The bonus for vacuum cleaners increases to 40 euros and that for televisions increases to €60. The bonus for more than thirty products, including computers, will earn an additional €5, or €50 in total for a PC. And 73 new devices will become eligible such as “the microwave oven, the electric shaver, the hair dryer or the printer”. Smartphone screens are also affected and they will benefit from a 25 euro bonus.

Small clarification which is important: “If the amount including tax of the invoice is less than the amount of financial support, the repair is not covered by the fund”. Also note that the bonus only applies within certain billing thresholds for a handful of products. This is the case for laptops, printers and scanners, monitors and desktop computers. And to benefit from the deduction of this bonus from your bill, you must go to one of the 4,000 certified companies to carry out these repairs. The government is counting on 14,000 companies in 2027.
The CCLV regretted the windfall effect that this bonus was able to create, with some repairers not hesitating to increase their bill as a result.
