High electricity prices are a challenge for Switzerland as a business location. Especially when European countries grant enormous financial aid and Switzerland’s competitiveness suffers. A broad alliance of electricity producers and consumers came together at the initiative of economiesuisse to address the consequences of high electricity prices. Participating organizations are in favor of market economy instruments and reject poorly targeted subsidies and state interventions as we see them abroad.
