macOS 14.2 is available in final version for everyone following experiencing two release candidates. The content of this update has been known since last week, there are changes in Messages, Weather, in PDF management, in Apple Music and even in Clock if you start timers from your Mac.

The full release notes:

PDF

• The improved autofill identifies fields in PDF files and other forms so you can quickly fill them in with information like your contact names and addresses.

Messages

• An arrow displayed in the upper right corner allows you to easily navigate to the first unread message in a conversation.
• The context menu allows you to add a sticker directly to a bubble.
• The validation of ignition keys provides automatic alerts and contact validation codes to help people facing sophisticated digital threats ensure they only exchange messages with the intended people.

Weather report

• Precipitation volumes help you anticipate rainy and snowy conditions for the next 10 days.
• New widgets let you choose to view next hour’s precipitation, daily forecasts, sunrise and sunset times, and current weather conditions, such as air quality, what the temperature feels like, or once more the wind speed.
• A snapshot of the wind map allows you to quickly assess the prevailing wind direction and access the animated wind map overlay to prepare for the wind conditions predicted for the next 24 hours.

Watch

• You can now start multiple timers at the same time and assign a name to each of them.
• Presets allow you to quickly start a timer of a predefined duration.
• The Recents option lets you easily restart recently used timers.

This update also brings the following new features :

• Apple Music’s Favorite Songs playlist lets you quickly access songs you’ve added to your favorites.
• The “Use listening history” option in the Music app can be turned off in a focus mode so that the music you listen to does not appear in “Recently listened to” and does not influence your recommendations.
• Shazam’s song recognition lets you quickly identify songs playing online or around you, even when you’re wearing AirPods.
• New keyboard types for 7 additional Sámi languages.
