Where do you meet in Cairo? Of course “downtown, baby!”. That’s what Wanda sang on their debut album in 2014. Ten years later, however, you may no longer know exactly what “Cairo Downtown” means. Because 45 kilometers east of the center of the Egyptian capital, the “New Administrative Capital” is taking shape. It still doesn’t have a catchy name, but it’s been under construction for nine years.
