by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

MONTREAL – At the United Nations Conference on the Protection of Species in Canada, a draft agreement on biodiversity has been on the table since Sunday. Under the plan presented by China, rich countries will increase their financial support for developing countries for biodiversity to at least $20 billion a year by 2025. By 2030, the sum should increase to 30 billion dollars. According to the draft, 30 percent of the earth’s surface should also be declared protected areas.
