Drake Fans Enjoy $1m worth of Bitcoin, Despite Rapper’s $20m Loss

Celebrity rapper Drake gave away Bitcoin of $1 million to his fans in his first live stream appearance on Twitch. The 35-year-old ‘In My Feelings’ hitmaker also lost $20 million during a gambling spree. Drake has been working with the betting app, Stake.com for the past couple of months and is actively placing bets on sporting events.

Since its debut back in 2017, Stake.com has certainly made a name for itself, enjoying the title of one of the premier crypto operators in the realms of sports betting and iGaming. With that said, there are other Bitcoin casinos of this calibre, some having joined the scene.

Rapper Lost $20 Million in Roulette

The rapper had made $18 million on Stake.com’s online casino. Fans flocked to witness Drake’s victory at the roulette wheel, where he won $18 million using his lucky number 11. However, things took a turn for the worse when he lost $20 million on the livestream hosted by Stake.com. The cryptocurrency casino platform confirmed that Drake would appear again in future livestreams. Stake.com also hinted at more crypto giveaways during the rapper’s appearances on Twitch.

While the $20 million loss struck fans as shocking, it will be of little consequence for Drake, who is one of the best-earning celebrities in the industry. The rapper has many commercial collaborations with various brands, sponsorships, and various record deals in his kitty. In 2020, Forbes estimated Drake’s earnings to be over $49 million. His net worth in the same year was estimated to be $200 million.

The rapper participated in the giveaway despite his loss at the roulette table. An ardent cryptocurrency fan, Drake gave away 35 Bitcoins to fans during the stream. The lucky winners were selected randomly and received prizes of over $75,000. The winners hailed from various corners of the globe, including India, Mexico, Argentina, Jordan, Brazil, and the rapper’s native country, Canada.

The rapper was unfazed after incurring the loss during his first livestream. The day ended on a pleasant note for the ‘Hotline Bling’ hitmaker when he won $1 million. Drake’s win was attributed to his prediction that the Golden State Warriors would be victorious in the Western Conference NBA decider.

Stake.com is a Premier Crypto Casino Platform

Stake.com has earned a big name for itself in sports betting and iGaming and has tasted success ever since it was launched five years ago, in 2017. It is also known as a pioneer cryptocurrency operator in the two verticals. The platform supports over 8 different cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Bitcoin and hosts a vibrant portfolio of gaming products, featuring classic table games, live casinos, and slot games.

The betting app has inked numerous partnership deals with celebrities and sports clubs. Stake.com has collaborated with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and footballer Sergio Aguero. Recently, Watford FC signed a club-record sponsorship deal with the platform ahead of the Premier Club.

Stake.com’s partnership with Drake gathered public attention when the rapper made news for winning $2.6 million on a parlay wager. The bet was one of the many expensive bets that players place on the iGaming and sports betting platform.

Drake Continues to Bet Despite F1 Loss

Drake has been quite involved in placing hefty wagers and has been in the news for the frequent bets he places, some of which run in millions of dollars. Recently, the Canadian had bet $230,000 on Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc.

Unfortunately, Luck did not favor the rapper as Leclerc lost the lead in the Spanish Grand Prix due to an unfortunate engine failure. The occasion marked the ‘Nice for What’ chart topper’s first chance at betting on an F1 race.

After his F1 bet loss, Drake won $300,000 after the Los Angeles Rams won against the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl 56. He bet $1.3 million of bitcoin in a series of bets during the Super Bowl 2022, including a $393,000 wager on his friend, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
