A couple of young French people lost their lives on Sunday while walking with their dog in the Meuse department in northern France. According to Est Républicain, the animal was swept away by the current after approaching too close to a river in Sorcy-Saint-Martin.
Panicked, its owner jumped into the water to save him from drowning, but was also swept away before being stuck in a cement nozzle, according to information provided by firefighters to our French colleagues. Seeing this, the young man’s companion jumped into the stream to help him, but the couple drowned.
Rescuers failed to resuscitate them. The dog managed to get out of the water…
