Draymond Green is attracting more and more enemies with his provocative remarks, and one star of the 80s is particularly tired of hearing him talk. As a result, he literally knocked out Golden State’s interior ahead of Game 4, reminding him of the superiority relationship between the two men!
And Draymond Green was simply disappointing on the court, as was once more in game 4 despite the victory of the Warriors (107-97, summary here), this might still be acceptable. The problem is that the triple champion of the Bay makes observers of the orange ball talk almost daily, using statements as sensational as they are unwelcome in the eyes of former players in particular. As a result, the discourse regarding it becomes all the more virulent…
The best evidence of this development was Cedric Maxwell’s cash outing a few days ago, with the ex-Celtics winger claiming that the 2017 DPOY would have been slaughtered in its time, in the 80s. Unsurprisingly, the Dubs big man caught wind of these remarks and he reacted to them in an equally scathing way recently. The words used by the Californian are extremely strong, since he addresses a gigantic tackle to almost an entire generation!
What bothers me regarding the 1980s or 1990s is that some of the trash-talking guys weren’t involved in those fights, weren’t kicking. They act like everyone is walking around the field hitting everyone. So it kills me when a guy, just because he played in the 80s or 90s, explains that I would have been knocked out if I had played in his era. In addition, the fines were two dollars. If I knock out a player, I’ll probably be fined a million dollars.
Suffice to say that the angry reactions did not take long before flying in all directions, and Maxwell was the first to respond to the Dancing Bear. Obviously, the one who was double NBA champion with Boston was furious with the speech given by Green and therefore decided to humiliate him in public. He indeed put the interested party back in his place on the set of NBA TVrecalling that he had been MVP of the Finals in 1980-81, which Dray never managed to do:

Draymond needs to stop talking like that, he would have been kicked out in the 80s. It’s an insult to everyone who played with and once morest me at that time. The reason he makes so many millions every season is because we’ve been there before him, us and the giants of the game. I’ll quote a famous philosopher by the name of Kevin Garnett: “Respect your elders.” . Ask your father who I am, Draymond. There have only been so many Finals MVPs in history, and I’m one of them.
Cedric Maxwell didn’t appreciate what he felt was Draymond Green’s huge disrespect for the 80s, and he wanted to let him know. Knowing the Warrior, not sure though that he has anything to do with it.
