It was around 10:45 p.m. local time that the plane carrying the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, landed on the tarmac of Ndjili International Airport. When he got off the plane, he was welcomed by Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Communication and Media, some members of the restricted reception composed of the Ambassador of the French Republic in the DRC, the Governor of Kinshasa, the Mayor of the municipality of N’Sele and other Congolese and French personalities.

After the review of the troops and a brief exchange with Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde at the presidential lounge at Ndjili International Airport, the motorcade of the host of the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, went to the residence of France, where he was staying.

It should be noted that the program for the official visit of the President of the French Republic to the DRC includes a one-on-one meeting between President Félix Tshisekedi and his counterpart this Saturday at the Palais de la Nation. It is also expected that the Agreements will be signed by the Minister of Finance and the French Development Agency (AFD). A joint press conference by the two Heads of State will follow.

President Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo will offer on this occasion a working lunch to his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron. On the same Saturday, a working visit to the National Institute for Biomedical Research (INRB) is planned. Here, the Prisme convention (Platform for international research in global health) will be signed by the Congolese Minister of Health, the Rector of the University of Kinshasa and the French Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo. .

It is for the first time since President Félix Tshisekedi has been in power that the French president has arrived in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The issue of insecurity in the eastern part of the DRC, caused by the M23 terrorist movement supported by Rwanda, will be at the center of this state visit by the French Head of State to Kinshasa.
