Drew Barrymore, who played Casey Becker in the original Scream (1996) film, thought her character might return to the franchise.
After Hayden Panettierre’s Kirby Reed returns from Scream 4 in the series’ latest installment, Scream 6, Barrymore’s friend Ross Matthews ) questioned her on her talk show (thanksGamesRadar) whether Casey might have a similar revival.
Matthews says: “I ask you, maybe your character, maybe, survived, you know, doctors can do amazing things!
“You said, maybe she really had a chance of surviving. So, does that make you want to bring her back for Scream VII?
barrymore replied: “It’s funny. I never thought regarding it that way, but I’m pretty sure a C-section is comparable to what happened to her.
“Like, literally. I’m here! I’m fine! So, maybe Kathy Becker will be fine.
“With good writing, you can make anything happen. I’m glad this franchise is still a viable commodity.
Regardless, if Barrymore were to reprise his role as Casey Becker, the writers would definitely have their work cut out for them to figure out how to do it.
