Dries Van Noten quits: ‘Wants to shift focus to things I never had time for’

Van Noten states that with the success story of his label, his dream of “having a voice in fashion” became reality. “I am sad, but at the same time happy, to let you know that I will be stepping down at the end of June,” he said.

“I have been preparing for this moment for a while and I think it is time to leave room for a new generation of talent to bring their vision to the brand.”

Van Noten is still completing the men’s collection for the spring-summer 2025 season, and leaves the women’s collection for that season to his studio team. “I have complete confidence that they will do a great job,” he says. In due course we will announce the designer who will continue the DVN story. However, I remain involved.”

Van Noten says he is confident that the Spanish group Puig, which acquired a majority stake in the company in 2018, will continue to expand its brand. “Since Puig became part of our company, we have been able to continue to grow as we wanted,” he says. “We have added beauty and fragrance lines, expanded accessories, added e-commerce and opened exciting and innovative stores. The brand is now thriving.”
