Two flights from Yekaterinburg to Moscow were delayed due to a drone attack on the Russian capital on the night of September 17. This follows from the online scoreboard on the Koltsovo Airport website.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wrote in his telegram channel that at night Russian air defense repelled a drone attack in the Istra urban district in the Moscow region. After this, in the capital, according to the Shot telegram channel, they announced the “Carpet” plan at all Moscow airports. Due to this, departure and arrival flights have been delayed.

According to Shot, 29 flights were delayed. At Yekaterinburg airport, according to the online scoreboard, two flights of Aeroflot and Rossiya airlines were delayed. Both planes were supposed to fly from the Ural capital to Sheremetyevo airport at eight in the morning. The Rossiya flight was delayed until ten in the morning, the Aeroflot flight until nine.

The URA.RU correspondent sent inquiries to the press service of Sheremetyevo and Aeroflot and Rossiya airlines. Responses are awaited.

The “Carpet” plan is announced when illegal border crossings occur, as well as when unidentified objects appear in the airspace. It involves the immediate landing or withdrawal from the zone of all civil aircraft, with the exception of military and rescue aircraft.
