Drones at celebrations, including end-of-year celebrations

Drones in celebrations, replace fireworks and gain space in end-of-year celebrations

The use of drones in celebrations, in addition to being ecological and not producing noise, maintains the beauty of New Year’s Eve parties
The year 2023 is coming to an end and preparations for the celebrations characteristic of that time are already in full swing. Shops are already full of Christmas-themed decoration items and big events are being prepared for the arrival of the new year.

In Brazil, there have already been shows at event openings and even at the Brazilian Cup Celebration in Morumbi by São Paulo Futebol Clube

Until recently, the only way to celebrate New Year’s Eve with lights, colors and a lot of creativity was through pyrotechnic shows. Of varying proportions, fireworks light up the skies for minutes, bringing an infinite number of figures, phrases and also a lot of noise.

Therefore, the use of these fireworks has been debated considering that animals, people with some level of sensitivity, children, the elderly and the sick, suffer too much from excessive noise, which has opened up new possibilities to welcome the arrival of the new year. .

Countries like the United States and China, for example, have been adopting the practice of using drones in celebrations, showing that technology is our great ally in current times. Versatile devices, of varying sizes, drones can be programmed for different functions, including coloring and forming images in the skies during large celebrations.

Marco Giroto, one of the founders of SuperGeeks, the first computing and robotics school in the country, welcomes this trend. “Drones do not pollute the environment and are not for single use, unlike fireworks”, points out Giroto, and adds: “With them, the chances of accidents with explosions are zero, in addition to not scaring the elderly, children, hospitalized people and animals.”

Drone piloting training

SuperGeeks even promotes and encourages the teaching of these and other technologies while they are still in their initial phases of application. The robotics course offered by the network, for example, has a total duration of 16 classes of 1h30 each and can be taken by children from eight years of age onwards.

With a methodology aimed at deepening knowledge in electronics and robotic anatomy, the course develops several projects, such as “Rescue Robots”, normally seen in competitions. In this project, the device has its components integrated into an Arduino board and is programmed to locate and rescue objects, taking them from point A to point B and thus simulating a rescue operation, with real victims and obstacles. “Our work and motivation is to engage and enable students to monitor and develop these technologies, not only to keep up with market trends, but also to expand their ability to solve problems through technology.” concludes Marco, who admits to being an enthusiast, passionate about the sector since he was a child.

Sobre a SuperGeeks

Founded in 2014, SuperGeeks is the first and best Programming and Robotics school in Brazil. Its objective is to teach computer science in a fun and creative way, encouraging the training of programmers and a generation of technology creators and not just consumers. SuperGeeks teaches computer science to all ages and believes that programming is essential for the learning process.
