Like so many other companies, the Dropbox continues to increase its product category powered by artificial intelligence. At the conference Work in Progressthe company announced news for the sectoras well as a redesigned web experience/interface, a new all-in-one video tool, and three new subscription plans.

Let’s start by talking about Dropbox Dash: The platform’s AI-powered universal search is now available for download in public beta and has gained improvements such as keyword search and semantic search support. Additionally, Dash now uses generative AI to collect and summarize relevant information from apps, files, and content to provide quick answers to questions users ask.

Revamped interface

Leaving a little backend, Dropbox now has a completely redesigned interface experience for the web, designed especially to “support all types of content and workflows”. According to the company, the objective is also to ensure an easier user experience so that customers can work without leaving the platform.

With the new feature, the service interface has become cleaner and more minimalist. The navigation bar (on the left), for example, now has an expandable folder tree that makes it possible to get straight to the point, without the need to navigate through the various subfolders that may exist in its directories.

There is also a new action bar, which allows customers to quickly record their screen, edit PDFs, upload files, create folders, sign and share documents. Additionally, the file preview has been redesigned to provide dynamic content previews and make file editing easier.

According to Dropbox, the new features have started to be released to selected customers and will reach other users over the coming weeks and months.

Dropbox Studio

To meet the growing demand for tools involving video editing, the service is also launching the Dropbox Studioa collaborative tool that allows customers to “create, edit, review, approve and publish high-quality videos” without much effort.

Among the new features in this tool are a centralized page for all video projects, editing features such as cutting and removing stray words (such as “um”, “ah”, etc.) powered by AI, as well as the possibility of publish videos directly to Facebook and Instagram.

New subscription plans

Dropbox also reorganized its subscription plans, especially to better cover the latest news. Now, in addition to the traditional Plus plan (R$50), which entitles a single user to 2TB of storage, there is three other subscription types:

O Dropbox Essentials, designed to help freelancers save time, collaborate, and build a business, includes tools like editing PDFs, requesting unlimited e-signatures, recording, reviewing, and editing videos, and analyzing shared documents. It offers 3TB of storage and costs R$90 monthly for a single user. O Dropbox Business It has all the features of the Essentials plan and also features such as the ability to configure administrators and know what content is shared. The plan is aimed at teams and comes out R$100 monthly for each user with storage of at least 9TB (shared by the team). O Dropbox Business Plus It is also aimed at the corporate market, but allows you to configure administration functions at levels, receive alerts for suspicious activities and supports compliance monitoring. In this plan, which comes from R$128 for each user, the minimum storage provided is 15TB for the team.
