Drunk captain crashes cargo in Taiwanese port

On March 20, a ship carrying 74,000 tons of cargo crashed into Pier 77 in Kaohsiung Port, Taiwan. The vessel approached the quay at excessive speed despite repeated radio warnings from the harbor master’s office. Authorities said the captain was apparently drunk at the time of the accident.
