Thiruvananthapuram ∙ Party action against CPM Nemam area committee member JJ Abhijith. Removed from all positions and demoted to Branch. The action is against drinking and misbehaving with women workers. An investigation was initiated against the Area Committee member for trying to influence the complainant’s husband. A commission was appointed to investigate as there were allegations of irregularities in the purchase of an ambulance.
Action was taken against Abhijith for going to the beer parlor after the party’s anti-drug programme. Earlier, Abhijit was expelled from DYFI. On November 23 at 9 pm, 2 other DYFI workers filmed the scene of drinking at the KTDC beer parlor in Balaramapuram and gave it to the party workers. A woman member of the Nemam local committee lodged a complaint with the CPM state leadership against Abhijith alleging misbehaviour.
