With new updates, PlayStation announces DualSense controller sound improvements and screen sharing interactions

A new PS5 system software update with new features on DualSense is being released worldwide today, March 13th. Additionally, by the end of the month, a new PlayStation App update will allow users to enjoy screen sharing interactions in a new way.

Check out the newly added features:

DualSense controller audio improvements

PlayStation has updated the software for the DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers to improve their sound capabilities. The controller’s speakers, for example, now have a higher volume, allowing the player to hear in-game sounds and voice chat audio even more clearly. The noise cancellation system has also been improved, along with the microphone input quality of the controls.

With these updates, players will feel that sounds coming from the controllers’ speakers can sound louder. It is also possible to adjust the DualSense speaker volume from the device’s own menu.

Sharing on-screen interactions

Players using Share Play in full-screen mode can now use pointers and emoji reactions to interact with the host’s gameplay.

The viewer can move a pointer, send a ping, or draw a line on the shared screen, allowing certain objects or areas to be highlighted to guide the host player more precisely. Viewers can also send emoji-based reactions to the host’s screen to visually encourage and celebrate gameplay actions being made by the host.

This feature is available in the new standard, but can be turned off in the screen sharing settings.

PS5 Power Indicator Brightness Adjustment

You can now adjust the brightness of the PlayStation 5 power indicator. It’s super easy: just go to [Definições] > [Sistema] > [Bipe e Luz] and then select [Brilho].

Some updates are still in the beta testing phase, and are not yet available in all countries. To find out more details about the updates, visit the blog oficial da PlayStation
