Dubai: The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has been awarded the Future Fit Seal for developing innovative projects aimed at the future. The Smart Command and Control Center operating at Dubai Airport has been approved. GDRFA is the first government regional body in the UAE to achieve this feat.
The Smart Command and Control Center is the primary center that utilizes state-of-the-art technologies including biometric fingerprint system, smart corridor and other digital innovations. UAE Government Development and Future Minister Ohud bint Khalfan Al Roumi visited the Dubai airport and presented the recognition to the department.
GDRFA The Minister was received by Dubai Director General Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri and other senior officials. Apart from the Smart Command and Control Centre, the Minister and officials also visited various places like the Children’s Emigration Counter and the Smart Gate Path at Dubai Airport. GDRFA is an innovative plan for the future. The Minister appreciated the efforts.
The use of smart gates instead of traditional counters resulted in economic benefits of more than Dh121 million. Smart Corridor is also helpful for this. Passenger movement has been speeded up with digital service without paper documents.
