Dubai International Chamber enhances the expansion of its local companies abroad
Dubai: “The Gulf”
Dubai International Chamber recently organized the third event of the “Global Expansion Series,” which aims to support the international growth of local companies and enhance the expansion of the emirate’s companies in global markets.
The event was attended by 112 participants, including executives and decision makers representing 78 companies operating in Dubai. Participants in the event had the opportunity to meet with directors of the Chamber’s external offices and learn from them about the best ways to expand abroad in targeted global markets.
The event witnessed a panel discussion that included representatives from DP World, Etihad Export Credit Company, Citibank, and Ernst & Young on a number of issues related to facilitating companies’ expansion abroad.
The event also provided an opportunity for companies to participate in business meetings, learn about market research, ease of access to markets, available payment options, insurance solutions, and comprehensive support provided by the Chamber at the local and international levels.
Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, said: “The Global Expansion Series aims to enhance our members’ ability to expand into new markets by facilitating networking opportunities, providing specific investment information, and providing valuable guidance for expanding globally through export and investment. What is striking about our recent event is that we gave attendees the opportunity to meet with representatives of our foreign offices who possess specific and rich information about foreign markets. This initiative helps local companies achieve their expansion ambitions, and provides them with support at every stage of their foreign expansion.”
The “Global Expansion Series” was launched to support the objectives of the “Dubai Global” initiative, as it helps companies explore methodologies and strategies for entering target markets, in addition to trade finance and export credit solutions to overcome the financial challenges that prevent these companies from engaging in international trade. The initiative also works to accelerate efforts aimed at increasing Dubai’s non-oil foreign trade to two trillion dirhams by 2026, and supports the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) to double the size of Dubai’s economy over the next decade.
