Dr. Abdullah Al-Jarallah, Chairman of the Jury of the Dubai International Holy Quran Competition, praised the pioneering role of the competition in promoting the values ​​of justice and transparency in judging Qur’anic competitions.

He pointed out that the award, which lasted for 27 years, succeeded in establishing itself as a role model for honesty and objectivity, thanks to the generous support and care of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, sponsor and founder of the award.

This came in the opening speech he delivered at the launch of the activities of the twenty-seventh session of the Dubai International Holy Quran Competition on Tuesday night, in the “Culture and Science Symposium” hall in Dubai. Explaining that this occasion brings together the Islamic nation to love the Holy Qur’an and ponder its verses.

The competition witnessed a distinguished presence from members of the organizing committee, representatives of sponsors, the Dubai Chamber, the Culture and Science Symposium, the Dubai Courts, and a large number of the public.

Al-Jarallah said that the award worked to formulate arbitration regulations that take into account justice and achieve equality and fairness.

Addressing the competitors, he added that the competition is an opportunity for review, fine-tuning, inking and mastering. The points and evaluation controls that contestants must focus on in calculating grades are five questions in the event of error and proficiency. We thank the Chairman of the Organizing Committee and its members for the great efforts made to make the competition successful and distinguished.

Dr. Saeed Abdullah Hareb, Vice Chairman of the Committee, confirmed in a special statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the current session comes as a continuation of the successes achieved by previous sessions, and to confirm the prestigious status that the award has reached globally.

He described the award as the most prominent in the world, with the grace of God Almighty, and under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

He added that this award is characterized by wide participation, including Qur’an memorizers from seventy countries, as it highlights their outstanding excellence in memorizing the Holy Qur’an and their outstanding performance in competitions and initial tests.

Hareb praised the judges who participated over the years, and the new ones as well, because bringing a group of them from all over the Islamic world every year is evidence of the excellent preparation and careful organization of the award.

Yesterday, Tuesday, six contestants competed at the opening of the competition, before the jury, in memorizing the narration of Hafs on the authority of Asim. They are: Al-Amin Musa, from Cameroon, Moaz bin Muhammad, and Radi from Malaysia, Abdullah Jamal Al-Birawi, from Jordan, Ahmed Khubaib, from Italy, and Muhammad Hassan. Mali, from Mauritius, and Mazhar Shuaib, from the Philippines.

Dubai Courts offered financial prizes drawn from the audience, and presented by Khaled Abdullah Al-Maassam, Head of the Marketing Department at Dubai Courts.
