Dubai Internet City Partners with Korean Agency to Drive Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship

DUBAI, October 20 / WAM / Dubai Internet City, affiliated with TECOM Group, the largest regional business park for technology companies and talents working in their fields in the region, signed a memorandum of understanding with the “Korean National Information Technology Promotion Agency”, which is supported by the government of the Republic of Korea, with the aim of promoting innovation. And entrepreneurship contributes to the growth of the global technology sector.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of Dubai Internet City by Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of TECOM Group – Commercial Sector, and Sung Wook Hur, Chairman of the Agency, on behalf of the Korea National Information Technology Promotion Agency.

On the sidelines of signing the memorandum of understanding, a high-level Korean delegation toured Dubai Internet City, which includes an elite group of the most prominent global and regional technology companies.

It is worth noting that there is a strong and close trade partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Korea, as the volume of non-oil trade exchange between the two countries reached 3 billion US dollars during the first half of 2023.

The UAE is the second largest Arab trading partner of Korea, and in January 2023, the country announced its plan to invest $30 billion in various sectors and industries there, with the aim of strengthening and expanding the scope of economic cooperation over the next few years.

The signed memorandum includes enhancing cooperation and coordination, as the “Korean National Information Technology Promotion Agency” will provide information and data that will facilitate the participation of Korean technology companies, professionals and talents in the work environment of Dubai Internet City.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding with the National Information Technology Promotion Agency confirms Dubai Internet City’s commitment to advancing the technology sector and stimulating innovation and entrepreneurship, by launching joint initiatives that will have a noticeable positive impact on the global level.
