Dubai Private Sector Jobs: Over 80,000 Emiratis Successfully Employed

Dubai: The number of expats who got jobs in the private sector has crossed 80,000 since the indigenization was made mandatory. The Ministry of Human Resources and Indigenization said that the companies will cooperate with the government measures to achieve the goal of indigenization.

Compared to 2018, there is a 3-fold increase in the number of natives in the private sector. In 2018, there were 27,055 natives. The ministry said this achievement in the field of employment came following the formation of Nafis for skill development of Emiratis. As of Wednesday’s count, the number had crossed 80,000, up from 50,228 at the end of last year.

As many as 17000 natives work in private companies. Compared to other emirates, Dubai is at the forefront in terms of repatriation. 47.4%. Figures for other emirates: Abu Dhabi 38.6%, Sharjah 7.1%, Ajman 2.5%, Ras Al Khaimah 2%, Fujairah 1.7% and Umm al-Khuwain 0.7%.
