Dubai: The change in UAE’s visa policy may be a setback for job seekers. The UAE has stopped issuing three-month visitor visas (visit visas), a leading English media outlet reported, quoting a call center executive of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). A three-month entry permit was allowed till months ago, but this facility has now been discontinued. In the notice given to the travel agencies, it has been clarified that from now on, UAE will be able to come on a one-month or two-month visitor visa. The option to request a three-month visitor visa has also disappeared from the portal they use to issue permits. During the spread of Kovid, the three-month visitor visa was discontinued and replaced by a 60-day visa. However, the three-month visa was made available again as a leisure visa in May. Meanwhile, visitors who are first-degree relatives of Dubai residents can be granted a 90-day visa. This allows residents to bring their parents or relatives on the three-month plan.

Meanwhile, the UAE offers several visa options for individuals looking for employment opportunities. These visa holders can enter the UAE and search for jobs that suit their skills and abilities. The Employment Inquiry Visa is available in three options without the need for a guarantor or host. Visas are available for 60, 90 and 120 days with a single entry permit. The fee is Dhs 200 for 60 days work exploration visa, Dhs 300 for 90 days and Dhs 400 for 120 days. However, visitors must also provide a financial guarantee of AED 1,000 security deposit. This visa can be applied through digital channels like official website or smart application of GDRFA and ICP.
