Duchess Meghan: slap in the face

Momentous decision for Harry and Meghan?

That Spotify even offers podcasts is thanks in large part to Chief Content Officer Dawn Ostroff, who driving force behind the implementation of the idea was. It was Ostroff who engineered the 23 million euro deal with Harry and Meghan and signed important contracts with the parents of two. However, the streaming service is not exactly the best at the moment. CEO Daniel Ek has therefore now explained that the workforce is to be reduced by six percent and around 600 jobs are to be cut. The management is also to be restructured. Particularly bad for Meghan and Harry: Ek also announced that Dawn Ostroff had decided “Leave Spotify”.

According to the CEO, cost-cutting efforts over the past few months have not been enough, which is why major changes are needed. “Like many other executives, I was hoping to keep up the strong tailwinds from the pandemic […] In hindsight I was too ambitious and invested faster than our business might grow”so Daniel I.

It remains to be seen what consequences this will have for Duchess Meghan’s heart project. At least none are currently new episodes of “Archetypes” planned.
