Many allegations and a request for an interview: Duchess Meghan’s family gave an interview on Australian TV.
Duchess Megan’s (41) father Thomas Markle (78) is “open to any kind of conversation” with the 41-year-old. He explained this in a new interview on Australian TV. Markle would therefore like to improve his relationship with Prince Harry’s (38) wife again.
But according to media reports, the 78-year-old apparently did not save with allegations either. He claims his estranged daughter “killed him and then mourned for me” while he was still alive. He added that he refuses “to be buried by her”. She was the one who broke off contact. Prince Harry previously revealed his wife “mourns” the loss of their father.
“Big disappointment”
Thomas Markle made the allegations in a TV show that also featured Meghan’s half-siblings Samantha (58) and Thomas Jr. (56). Speaking to 7NEWS Spotlight, Meghan’s father revealedthat he would like to be reconciled with his daughter after a stroke that severely weakened him. He said he was “open to any kind of conversation” to mend his relationship with the Duchess and asked, “How can I fix this?” At the same time, he also criticized the fact that Meghan had allegedly not reported: “If she doesn’t show up because of a stroke, if she doesn’t move, what then?”
It is “a great disappointment and sad every day” that he has no contact with his daughter, said Markle. He would also like to meet Meghan and Harry’s children, Archie (3) and Lilibet (1).
Scandal before the wedding
Meghan is said to have had no contact with her father Thomas Markle since he caused a stir before her marriage to Harry in 2018. Markle had stated that he could not travel to England for the wedding due to health reasons. He is said to have been taken to hospital for heart problems. But before that he had already caused the first big scandal. British media had revealed that the former US lighting director had himself staged paparazzi photos showing him preparing for the wedding. It was followed by changing commitments and cancellations for the royal wedding, in the end he didn’t come.
Markle – who divorced Meghan’s mother when the daughter was little – then went on to publicly claim Meghan cut ties with him entirely. He even released a letter he received from the Duchess to the press. Now he said that he regrets this and the pictures taken before the wedding.
