Dune: The Sisterhood will restart production soon, and filming will continue in Hungary even as the SAG strike is ongoing. As we reported yesterday, the Screen Actors Guild strike meant many shows, movies, and games were put on hold. The Dune prequel seems to be an exception, but it’s not that the actors in the series ignored the strike. Instead, most actors are represented by the Fair Union, a union usually associated with actors in the UK. Equity players cannot legally unite with SAG players, which means production can continue. According to Deadline, the show has lost its director, a co-showrunner and two leads on unrelated issues, and had to pause production in November because the winter conditions in Hungary were too harsh to film. The prequels will show us more about the Bene Gesserit and how they came to be made up of the Harkonnen sisters. The story takes place 10,000 years before the main events of Dune Saga.
