The Minister of Communications in the Government of National Unity, Muhammad Al-Shahoubi, welcomed the return of French companies to resume and activate their contracts concluded in the field of transportation.
Al-Shahoubi, during his meeting with the French Ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Al-Mahraj, touched on the file of the air embargo imposed on Libyan aircraft to enter European airspace.
Al-Shahoubi indicated that the Civil Aviation Authority contracted with a consulting office to prepare the digital transformation project, with the aim of developing the civil aviation sector, in coordination with international aviation organizations.
Al-Shahoubi said that it is expected that there will be a visit by the audit team during the month of July to assess the current situation of the Civil Aviation Authority in the country.
In December 2014, the European Union decided to prevent Libyan aircraft from entering the airspace of the EU countries because they did not meet international safety standards.
