Pau – The Dutchwoman Demi Vollering has dethroned her compatriot and archrival Annemiek van Vleuten at the Tour de France. Last year’s second placed second in the time trial in Pau on Sunday, securing her first victory at one of the big state tours. The 26-year-old had already made the decision the day before at the Col du Tourmalet, when she clearly outperformed all her competitors around Van Vleuten, who was retiring in the autumn.
