Dynamo Puerto FC dramatically qualified for the quarterfinals of the Futve 2 League, in what was the last day of the regular phase, where Anzoátegui FC was also eliminated despite winning against Aifi de Guayana.

The “buffalos” faced Deportivo Miranda at the Francisco Massiani stadium in Puerto La Cruz. This match remained 0-0 for more than 80 minutes and ended tied 2-2 with Víctor Rivero as the great hero of the locals.

The Mirandinos, who had their ticket practically guaranteed before the match, scored at 85′ (José Sequera) and 87′ (Ronald Peña) and left the Portocruzanos against the wall. Simultaneously, Atlético La Cruz and Anzoátegui were adding three, so Dynamo was being eliminated, until Rivero arrived and scored a double (at 88′ and 90+2′).

With the pact, the porteños reached 46 points, the same as their backyard rival (they beat Aifi 2-1) and the Monaguenses (they beat Bolívar SC 4-2). However, by goal difference the “búfalos” finished third (+14), Atlético La Cruz fourth (+10) and Anzoátegui fifth (+4), out of the classification.

Hard fight

With Marítimo de La Guaira as the comfortable leader (51 units), the fight for the three remaining tickets that gave access to the quarterfinals in the Central-Eastern Group of the second division of Venezuelan football was exciting during the last few days.

In the absence of confirmation of the crossings and schedules, the four teams from this area will now face those from the Western Group, where Yaracuyanos led.

Precisely “the sorte warriors” (leaders of their plot) would go against Atlético La Cruz. La Guaira would face Aragua FC, Deportivo Miranda vs Héroes de Falcón and Dynamo Puerto FC vs Trujillanos FC.

It is worth noting that the winners of their respective keys will go to a semifinal, from which the finalists of the Liga Futve 2 2024 will emerge, where they will fight for a place in the first division.
