Eden Dzeko headed Inter Milan in a last-minute 2-1 victory at home to Venezia on Saturday, putting Simone Inzaghi’s side five points clear at the top of Serie A.

Inter Milan started the match poorly and Venezia, who played the match without many of its players after the outbreak of the Corona virus in its ranks, took the lead with the goal of Frenchman Thomas Henry in the 19th minute.

The hosts equalized through Nicolo Parilla five minutes before the break, and missed several chances in the second half.

The match seemed to be on its way to a draw, but veteran Gekko jumped high to head the ball into the net in the 90th minute.

Inter raised his score to 53 points from 22 games, while Milan, second-placed, plays its guest, Juventus, at the San Siro stadium on Sunday. Venezia remained in 17th place, two points ahead of the relegation zone.
