An e-bike rider (88) died in Salmsach TG on Thursday. The man turned from the Ober-Buhreute side street into Fehlwiesstrasse at around 3 p.m., the police said. There was a head-on collision with a car that was driving in the direction of Salmsach.
Despite first aid from passers-by and the rapid arrival of the police, rescue services and a Rega crew, the 88-year-old died at the scene of the accident. The 23-year-old driver was not injured.
The exact course of the accident is the subject of ongoing investigations. Anyone who can provide information about the traffic accident is asked to contact the Romanshorn cantonal police station on 058 345 22 00. (of)
