E-cards without a photo will be blocked from January 15th – health policy

2023-12-19 14:00:38

From January 15th, most e-cards without a photo will be invalid. As things currently stand, around 90,000 people are at risk of having their e-card blocked even though they are insured. The number comes from the Ministry of Health, which answered a parliamentary question from the FPÖ regarding around 100,000 people affected. The number has now fallen, a spokesman told STANDARD on Tuesday. In any case, the insurance status will remain intact, assured Bernhard Wurzer, General Director of the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK), on the sidelines of a press conference.
