E.l.f. Beauty Beats Wall Street Estimates With 51% Sales Surge and Raised Guidance

When Wall Street analysts surveyed by LSEG projected adjusted earnings of 60 cents per share on $470.3 million in revenue for E.l.f. Beauty (NYSE: ELF), they underestimated the retailer’s portfolio momentum. The company reported a net sales increase of 51% to $520.8 million for its second fiscal quarter, blowing past expectations as international channels surged 165%.

Earnings Beat Consensus Estimates and Raise Fiscal-Year Sales Projections

  • Earnings Beat: Adjusted earnings per share reached $1.21, easily outpacing the 60 cents consensus estimate.
  • Guidance Upgrade: Full fiscal-year net sales projections climbed to a range of $2 billion to $2.03 billion, up from prior forecasts of $1.94 billion to $1.97 billion.
  • International Runway: Overseas markets now represent 25% of the total business, fueled by broad-based portfolio demand and prominent placement on digital commerce platforms.

The company’s historical reporting shows steady volatility offset by aggressive top-line expansion, marking its 31st consecutive quarter of net sales growth. Net income for the period ended September 30 climbed to $30.03 million, or 50 cents per share, compared to roughly $3 million, or 5 cents per share, during the same period last year.

Chief Executive Officer Tarang Amin pointed to widespread engagement across digital channels during an interview with CNBC, noting that the company maintains its position as the most-searched beauty brand on TikTok Shop and the second-largest cosmetics brand on the platform. The skincare brand Rhode, acquired by the firm last year, contributed positively to the quarterly totals.
