E-visa: Morocco processed some 70,000 applications in six months

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has processed around 70,000 applications for obtaining an electronic visa (e-visa) in six months, revealed, on Thursday, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baïtas.

In response to questions from journalists, during the press briefing held after the Council of Government, about the decision to allow new countries to benefit from the “e-visa”, Baitas explained that the electronic visa helped increase the number of visitors to the Kingdom.

In view of the strong demand for this type of visa six months after its launch, it was decided to allow other nationalities to benefit from it, as part of the gradual expansion of this system to cover more country, noted the government spokesman.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) announced on Wednesday that nationals of Jordan, India, Guatemala and Azerbaijan will benefit from the electronic visa (e-visa) to visit Morocco from 10 January 2023.

This decision comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Kingdom, at the national and international levels, aimed at the digitalization of public administration services, in particular those related to consular action at the level of diplomatic missions and consulates of the Kingdom. , said a press release from the MAE.
