Following a truck on fire on the E19 near Nimy-Maisières, the motorway was closed at km 54.8 towards Brussels around 2:30 p.m. The queues were substantial throughout the afternoon. Significant repercussions were observed on the neighboring axes (N50, N552, N56, N6 and R50).
Three vehicles are involved and about thirty tons of gravel must be transferred. According to our latest information collected at 9:00 p.m. from the SPW, the police and the Mons firefighters, thethe road will remain closed all night long to clean the fuel oil present on the road and then proceed to scrape the tarmac.
The right and emergency lanes should be reopened to traffic on Tuesday morning. Asphalting will not be done however not until early next week.
