Communities where the tremor was felt included Moreno Valley, Newport Beach, Riverside, Santa Ana, and Mission Viejo. The broad geographic spread highlights how shallow, low-magnitude quakes can still register across county lines when conditions are right.
Emergency response agencies have not reported any injuries or structural damage tied to either the 3.1-magnitude quake or its 2.7-magnitude successor.

A depth of just 2 miles, as recorded for the primary Corona tremor, means the energy release occurred very close to the surface. Shallow earthquakes often produce sharper, more noticeable jolts for those living directly above or near the epicenter, even when the overall magnitude remains low.
