Not everyone has a trailer hitch on their car and may have to take their pedelec with them on the roof rack. The e-bikes, which are quite heavy even without a battery, require a certain amount of skill and strength. With the Thule Slidebar, there is at least a system where the bike carrier can be pulled out a little over the edge of the roof, making it a little easier to load. The problem, however, remains the altitude. The Pender company from Bochum is now promising a remedy with their Ebikelifter.
The Ebikelifter is a lifting device with a telescopic arm that should fit on all common roof racks. It has a load capacity of up to 30 kilograms. With the help of two gas pressure springs, the Ebikelifter follows the pushing and pulling movements that people make on the bike without much effort when loading and unloading. There, however, the so-called clamping support tube between the handlebar tube and the seat post for the gripper arm must first be attached using a ratchet. Advantage of the process: The bike size and frame construction are almost irrelevant. And of course the Ebikelifter is not only suitable for pedelecs, but also for bicycles without motor assistance.
The manufacturer states that the stainless steel and aluminum construction weighs around eleven kilograms. The price is 748 euros plus shipping costs. (awm)
