The Easter giftwhich will be increased due to the new minimum wage, will have to be paid by employers to employees by Holy Wednesday 1 May.
It is recalled that the Easter gift is entitled to those workers in the private sector who are employed in the period January – April 2024 and amounts to 50% of the monthly salary for any employee employed in the last 4 months.
As a basis of calculation of the Easter gift, in any case, is the salary in effect in April.
For minimum wage earnershe 830 euros gross (710 euros), after the increase announced by the government from April 1, 2024. Those of them employed in January – April, will receive an Easter gift of 415 euros gross.
However, this salary applies to any employee with less than 3 years of (recognized) previous service.
Employees who have 3-6 years of recognized experience and are paid a minimum wage of 913 euros gross (781 euros net) and employed in January – April 2024, they will receive an Easter Gift of 456 euros gross (390 euros net).
Those who have a recognized experience of 6 – 9 years and are paid a minimum wage of 996 euros gross (852 euros net) and employed in January – April 2024, they will receive an Easter Gift of 498 euros (426 euros net).
Employees who have a recognized seniority of more than 9 years and are paid a minimum wage of 1,079 euros gross (923 euros net) and employed in January – April 2023, they will receive an Easter Gift of 539 euros gross (461 euros net).
