Mia Ross, who has been making music since she was very young, has already participated in the Telethon twice, but as a singer and not as a sick child. However, in 6e year, her life was turned upside down by anorexia.

“We never thought it would happen to us,” says his mother, Stéphanie Paquet, who also worked for several years for the organization Opération Enfant Soleil.

“Mia started having a lot of anxiety and obsessing about health in general, healthy foods, sports, and she started focusing on her bodily perceptions, says Ms.me Pack. She saw herself much bigger.

A long road to recovery

In February 2022, the young girl was urgently admitted to CHUL. His heart was in very bad shape, his body completely malnourished, and his head was no longer thinking properly, confides the mother.

“She was hooked up to a heart monitor for seven days,” said Ms.me Fort. We saw the logos of Opération Enfant Soleil. It was particularly touching.”

After being hospitalized at the Center mère-enfant Soleil for a week, Mia was admitted to the Center de pédopsychiatrie de Québec, where she remained for two months. Today, Mia is doing much better. She relearned to eat when she was hungry and without any particular restrictions.

This Sunday, during the interview, we will notably discuss a family therapy program offered to teenagers struggling with eating disorders at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. It is a program funded by Opération Enfant Soleil. She will also talk about her story, the road traveled and the challenges to overcome.
