EBY employees work normally despite strike

Asuncion, IP.- The Yacyretá Binational Entity issued an official statement reporting that of the total of 1,902 Paraguayan workers, 91 percent are carrying out their activities within the institution in a normal manner.

On the first day of the strike, the institution is generating energy normally from the Hydroelectric Power Plant and delivering it uninterruptedly to the National Electricity Administration (ANDE) for regular supply to the population.

The security measures deployed by the legal authorities have guaranteed the protection of the people and assets of this strategic asset of all Paraguayans, as well as the normal development of the activities of the citizens residing in the cities where the entity has its headquarters.

Striking officials will continue to be guaranteed the exercise of their constitutional right to do so.

“Finally, we would like to thank the officials who are carrying out their tasks normally and are guaranteed safety and security at their workplaces,” the statement from the binational company said.
