Economic Association: Harald Mahrer re-elected President of the Austrian Economic Association

Mahrer confirmed with 99.3 percent

Vienna (OTS) – Harald Mahrer was re-elected President at today’s General Assembly of the Austrian Business Association with 99.3 percent. Almost 200 delegates and guests gathered in the Aula der Wissenschaften in Vienna for the re-election of the team – including numerous representatives of federal and state politics, such as Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer, Federal Minister Magnus Brunner or ÖVP club chairman August Wöginger.

“Harald Mahrer has achieved a lot with his excellent specialist knowledge, assertiveness and many years of experience in representing the political interests of the Austrian economy. Like no one else, he stands for a future-oriented economic policy that understands the challenges of the modern business world,” summarizes WB Secretary General Abg.z.Nr. Kurt Egger.

In his speech, Harald Mahrer underlined the achievements of the Austrian Business Association within the People’s Party and the federal government: “I accept my re-election with great passion and motivation. I look forward to continuing to shape the future of Austria’s economy with the entire Executive Committee. There is much to do and a number of challenges to solve. Because especially in times of crisis, it is our duty to move forward with foresight and courage for the entrepreneurs of this country. Together with my team, we will continue to work to maintain the competitiveness and quality of the business location. Because I am convinced that the Austrian Business Association, with all its representatives at federal, state and local level, has the right visions and solutions for Austria’s economy,” said the re-elected President of the Austrian Business Association, Harald Mahrer.

Harald Mahrer relies on his well-established team for the function of Vice President and is supported by Peter Buchmüller, Wolfgang Ecker, Josef Herk, Doris Hummer, Martha Schultz and Walter Ruck, who will continue the active and assertive course of the Economic Association. The Austrian Economic Association (ÖWB) is one of the six sub-organizations of the Austrian People’s Party and is the largest political lobby for entrepreneurs in Austria.
