The figures speak for themselves: endometriosis, a gynecological disease linked to the presence of tissue similar to the uterine lining outside the uterus, affects one in ten women. Different organs can be affected. Sometimes asymptomatic, in some cases it causes severe pain or even infertility. Today, it sometimes takes more than 7 years to diagnose this pathology. To facilitate screening, doctors specializing in endometriosis developed in 2021 Luna, the first CE-certified endometriosis diagnostic aid test, LunaEndoScore, and created the eponymous medtech in Marseille. “Via the app, a questionnaire allows you to measure the probability of being affected by endometriosis thanks to the calculation of a risk score, in a few minutes, and to receive personalized advice in order to have faster access to appropriate care, and improve their quality of lifeexplains Charline François, the marketing director of Luna. In 2022, more than 50,000 downloads were recorded and more than 40,000 women were able to perform a test to help diagnose endometriosis.

A new version of the app, completely redesigned and optimized for users, was launched at the beginning of March and an unprecedented pathway for patients in France was inaugurated, combining digital and physical endometriosis screening centers. After their test and obtaining their endometriosis risk score, users can make an appointment at the center for an orientation consultation (available by teleconsultation) and the performance of diagnostic imaging examinations ( ultrasound), in order to obtain a diagnosis more easily and quickly, from professionals who are experts in the disease. “The first users of the app who completed the Luna patient journey since March 8 obtained an endometriosis diagnosis in less than 15 days in our partner center in Marseille (Bouchard-Le Coronet clinic)says the manager. Luna is directly part of the national strategy for the fight against endometriosis initiated in 2022 (three-year plan 2022-2025) by President Emmanuel Macron, by allowing the reduction of the time for diagnosis of the disease, and the organization of care on the territory, for patients and doctors.
