Edda Wind to Sell Entire Fleet of SOVs & CSOVs to North Star & Navigare Capital

Oslo – Edda Wind, a Norwegian shipowner specializing in service operation vessels (SOVs) and commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) for the offshore wind industry, has agreed to the potential sale of its entire fleet to two separate buyers, according to a filing with the Oslo Stock Exchange.

The fleet will be divided between North Star, a UK-based provider of offshore wind service vessels and an affiliate of Navigare Capital Partners, a Danish maritime assets investor. The sale includes vessels currently in operation as well as those still under construction.

Completion of the transaction remains contingent upon successful inspections and the fulfillment of other customary closing conditions, Edda Wind stated. No financial details were disclosed.

Edda Wind currently operates seven vessels – six CSOVs and one SOV – with an additional three CSOVs on order. Since 2015, the company has focused exclusively on providing dedicated SOV and CSOV services to the growing offshore wind sector. The company was taken private in June 2025 by a consortium led by Geveran Trading, EPS Ventures, and Wilhelmsen New Energy.

The potential divestment follows Edda Wind’s sale of two SOVs, the Breeze Enabler and Brint Enabler, to Danish operator Esvagt in December 2025. If finalized, this latest deal would represent a complete exit from vessel ownership for Edda Wind.

North Star, acquired by Partners Group in 2022, secured £425 million (approximately €500 million) in debt financing in 2024 to expand its fleet of SOVs for the European market. The company already has long-term charter agreements with RWE for two CSOVs and reservation agreements for two newbuild SOVs with Vard, a Norwegian shipbuilder.

Navigare Capital Partners, the other potential buyer, manages assets across infrastructure and maritime strategies. The identity of the specific affiliate involved in the transaction was not disclosed by Edda Wind.
