Edith Cochrane leaves “Children of TV”

Edith Cochrane has decided to leave “Les enfants de la télé” after eight seasons supporting host André Robitaille.

She must take part on Friday in her last recording around the huge table which welcomes guests week after week.

We do not know who will replace her at this time. Radio-Canada has indicated that the choice will be announced in the coming months, the public broadcaster has indeed confirmed the return of this Wednesday evening meeting in its 2022-2023 schedule.

“It is with a twinge of heart that I bow out of this unique show which will forever remain a precious and significant project in my career,” Edith Cochrane said in a statement on Thursday.

“I congratulate the great production team for their talent, their sensitivity and their remarkable way of reinventing themselves season after season,” she continued. These eight years have allowed me to meet a multitude of exceptional people with whom I have been able to share rich, crazy and inspiring moments. I thank Fair-Play and Radio-Canada for their trust and the faithful public for their tokens of affection over the years. I now want to open the door to new challenges as a host and actress. Long live the “Children of TV”.

The show produced by Fair-Play has been on the air since the start of the 2010 school year and has been directed since the first episode by Guy Gagnon. André Robitaille and Édith Cochrane took over from Véronique Cloutier and Antoine Bertrand in 2014.

Both the general manager of Radio-Canada Television, Dany Meloul, and the co-founder of the Fair-Play Group and executive producer of “Children of TV”, Guy Villeneuve, praised the humor and energy of Edith Cochrane. .
